Message from the President

by Nadiah Hanim Abdul Latif

In 2024, the Malaysian Rare Disorders Society (MRDS) continued its mission of advocating for individuals and families affected by rare diseases across the nation. This year saw remarkable progress with expanded outreach programs, new partnerships with healthcare institutions, and increased public awareness through campaigns like Rare Disease Day Malaysia 2024. MRDS also played a pivotal role in pushing for better access to early diagnosis and treatment by engaging with policymakers and supporting research initiatives. With new support groups formed and educational workshops conducted nationwide, 2024 has been a year of growth, resilience, and hope for the rare disease community in Malaysia.
